The Gift of the Turtle was inspired by a Native American creation story. This boat was a featured presentation at the 2015 Grand Rapids ArtPrize 7 event. 22 inlaid turtles with Petoskey Stone shells crawl along her waterline. Her bow and stern decks both have inlaid Coco Bolo wood shell like inlays. The gunnels, thwart/backrest and hand carved seat are of Black Walnut.
