Mackinaw Watercraft News

August, 2007Hessel, MI – Attracting throngs of fans and drawing attention from the beautiful antique powerboats the Mackinaw Watercraft booth displayed two boats and a dozen paddles. The crowd was steady and enthusiastic and we talked boats and boat building until our voices were nearly gone. It was inspiring to have many thousands of visitors ask us for our show number so they could nominate our boats as best in show. Sadly that contest was for the many classic antique restorations that were there in abundance. We had to be content knowing that Mackinaw Watercraft is producing tomorrow’s classics today.

July 4, 2007Alpena, MI – Mackinaw Watercraft had the opportunity to display two of it’s custom kayaks at the Maritime Festival held at the Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary on the July 4th holiday this year. Following a special request to share our boats by the Thunder Bay Community Boat Builders group and the Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center we were proud to showcase two Thunder Bay model kayaks. The boats were a fantastic hit with most of the 10,000 attendees.
