These one of a kind boats and paddles are created using natural elements to meld the beauty of nature and the finest in manmade materials into a functional form. The cedar wood core of these boats is sandwiched between layers of 6oz fiberglass cloth and epoxy resin. Each boat receives five coats of Marine Spar Varnish and a polymer wax top coat.

We believe that utilizing the natural beauty of wood augments your paddling experience and brings out a little bit of wilderness no matter where you dip your paddle. Nothing surpasses wood for its durability, good looks and it’s renewability as a resource.

We use Northern White Cedar as the base material for most of our kayaks and canoes. Cedar’s strength to weight ratio, beautiful grain and easy workability result in a handsome vessel that responds to the user’s touch. In addition to cedar, you will find many other species of wood used in our kayaks, canoes and paddles. Ash and Oak are used for their strength and versatility. Walnut, Poplar and Birch as well as exotics such as Mahogany, Purpleheart and Coco Bolo lend their rich grained beauty to accent these unique boats and paddles.

Each of the hundreds of individual pieces that make up these boats and paddles are carefully hand fitted and shaped using tools that have been passed down through four generations of the builder’s family. The attention to detail and the hands on nature of wooden boat building assure that you receive a finished craft like no other.

The advantage of a personalized vessel is that it can be tailored to you. After spending hundreds of hours on each boat we want to make sure that it is built to fit. You will appreciate this especially if you are over 6 feet tall or above 200 pounds as is our owner. Big or small we can customize your cockpit opening, deck height, width and length of boat.
